Heat transfer into the laminar wall jet

Abstract The flow past a flat plate is the predominant reference case in boundary layer studies. Less attention payed to closely related wall jet. reason may be seen existence of real source (nozzle) which involves virtual origin. We have dealt with laminar jet problem qualitatively and quantitatively an earlier paper [2]. In present we complement heat transfer for constant temperature. equations are derived adapted experiment comprising water heated cylinder encompassed by lengthwise (air) emanating from circumferential gap. Analytical rates compared experimental ones. Agreement found without any data fitting. Notably Reynolds number dependence confirmed Re 3/4 instead 1/2 plate.
